Do you fit removable breast bars in your horseboxes?
Yes, removable breast bars are fitted as standard in all our horseboxes
Can I carry 2 horses in your horseboxes?
Yes, as long as you are within your payload (the maximum weight allowed for the vehicle).
What size horse can I travel in your 3.5 tonne horseboxes?
The Sportsman, a converted vehicle, has up to 1,300 tonne payload and an internal height of 7’2” (This is the equivalent of a 505 Ifor Williams trailer). We recommend these vehicles for horses up to 16.2hh. However we do have a numbers of clients with horses over 16.2hh who travel quite happily in these vehicles (remember each horse is an individual and may reach differently).
Our coach built horseboxes (The Coachman and The Statesman) have an internal height of 7’8″ (which 4” higher than a 511 Ifor Williams trailer). We recommend these vehicles for people wishing to transport horses 16.2hh and over.
Can I drive a 3.5 tonne 2 Horse Horsebox on a standard car driving licence?
YES! Any vehicle with a weight rating of up to 3.5 tonne can be driven on a standard car license.
What payload can I expect to have on one of your vehicles?
Can I supply my own vehicle for conversion in to a Horsebox?
Yes, we are more than happy to build on your own vehicle.
The Sportsman needs to be built on either the Renault Master, Vauxhall Movano or the Nissan Interstar. It must be a Long wheel base with the Maxi roof. A 2.5lt 6 speed is preferable.
How economical are your horseboxes?
They do an average of 35 mpg and are normally cheap to insure, making them a very economical choice.
What colours choices are available?
You can have any solid colour you choose and Metallic is available at extra cost.
Do you take vehicles in part exchange?
This may be an option, but it does depend on your part exchange vehicle.
